John 14:8 says, “if God is all you have, you have all you need”. Many people want to disprove God and Jesus because in their heart they can feel that they’re real. This earth and everything in it is too perfect. We want control of our life, so to believe there is an almighty God would ruin their plans. We can’t even control when we take our next breath. We have no clue when it will be our last!
Many turn away from God after a horrific tragedy because they feel like were cheated out of something. This could be mom or dad dying; this could be a spouse breaking your heart; or this could be losing an arm or leg. We want to look at these things as losses instead of looking at these as gifts and blessings! Maybe this tragedy isn’t a setback, but a setup. It is easy to say that you got cheated, but it is hard to move on and ask what you can do with this lesson that God blesses you with.
Some people think we’re a little whacky and they think Christianity is a religion. They never learned much about it, they mostly get their information from other Christian haters. They see the brimstone and fire. Why do they still hate gay people? Why can’t you masturbate? What’s wrong with having sex before marriage? What’s wrong with holding grudges? These are only for your protection. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
As Christian’s, we know that there will be tough times, but we also know that we have a God that will never leave us nor forsake us. As a Christian we are going to be persecuted because we believe in God. We will lose friends, family, and people that we care about because of our belief. They will think you’re in a cult or you’re different from the person that they knew. It is what it is! We are changed by God. Our heart is different which transforms to our actions being different.
I’m not going to be a cliche and tell you they weren’t your friends to begin with because they probably were, but I will tell you that the enemy is always looking for reasons to take your mind off of Jesus. He distracts us because we are dangerous when speaking the word! You will lose friends, but you will gain better friends!
This is not about you alienating anyone, this is simply you becoming a better person and walking with Jesus. Anyone that has a problem with a person loving other people, forgiving other people, and walking with Jesus who is bigger than any man was only holding you back to begin with. You still love those friends with all your heart, but understand that God has a great plan for your life. It is their lost that they won’t be a part of it!
Proverbs 12:26 says, “the righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray”. It will hurt to lose a friend, but it will hurt a lot more to keep living in sin and displease Jesus. When you are in a place where you want to please the Lord more than anything else, you are on the right path.
For so long I was led astray by temptation and everything I needed in life. Being distracted by everything that went wrong, and even more distracted with some of the things that went right! I have been in dark places, but God has been the light in my life. As this blog has transformed, so have I. I will continue to live for the Lord through all I do. Stay woke my friends!!
